WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
“I came across this website almost by accident but was impressed with Dr. Chittick’s credentials. My daughter is an all-around good student but seems to not express herself as well as she could when writing. Her thoughts flow without structure according to one teacher. She got high SAT scores but does not do well when writing essays… with his counseling help, my daughter felt really good about her essay and we are proud she was accepted at Brown, her first choice.”
- Ella M., Manhattan
“I hope I like Dartmouth as much as you did! I am going to use your advice when writing ‘cause I want to excel in all my courses… How did you do your first year?”
- Rachel, Miami
“Thank you sir. Your advice was excellent. Scott got into his top two picks and you helped him focus immeasurably. Well worth the price.”
- Fred and Sally P., Winnetka
“I was dreading sitting down and writing THE essay. I don’t like doing them at school. And here I was faced with writing the most important essay of my life! OMG!! You helped me concentrate on what was really important – telling my story and why I deserved acceptance. I will write you after I arrive in Honolulu.”
- Carrie, Potomac
“Getting our child to do her college applications and meet the deadlines was exasperating at times. We bought her the self-help books on Amazon but she didn’t read them. She was unmotivated and disinterested until you worked with her and helped her see what she could do. Thanks!”
- Mrs. D. W., Savannah
“My dad says it was money well spent. I think it was time well spent using your advice as I worked on the drafts. Instead of using a lot of words, I focused on what I wanted to say concisely and with my heart. It worked, huh?! Thanx! If I go for a MBA at Harvard, can I contact you?”

1. Confirmation that the application form and payment has been received precedes actual counseling. Once Dr. Chittick has agreed to accept the work, the signed contract is submitted. Applicants are responsible for filling out their own applications. Dr. Chittick does not write the essays for applicants.
2. A joint conference call will be held with the student and his/her parents or guardians (as stipulated on the form). While Dr. Chittick will explain the process and answer questions, he does not counsel what schools are best or how stringent are their admissions as these factors vary year-to-year. Each student is advised that they should make full use of their guidance counselors, faculty advisors and online resources.
3. The students and Dr. Chittick will talk in the following ten days about their goals and why they want to go to the college/university that they have chosen. The two can converse over a few days if that is convenient. Dr. Chittick wants to get to know each student well. He will ask probing questions about school, activities, sports, hobbies and friends. He wants to understand what motivates and challenges each applicant. They will discuss the actual essay question. He will also give them short writing assignments as they build the final product.
4. Usually, but not always, writing an essay might take 4 or 5 drafts over a period of 2 – 4 weeks. Dr. Chittick wants the student and adults to feel comfortable with the evolving process. Each applicant is welcome to talk with Dr. Chittick when a question arises or to receive affirmation that the essay is coming along. While Dr. Chittick concentrates on each teen, parents may call and ask for updates but must realize that it is the applicant’s essay about why they are ready to do college level work.
5. Before the final draft is set, another joint call will be held among the student and adults and Dr. Chittick to answer any final concerns. There is no time limit on the call.
Note: Dr. Chittick does not accept texting although he understands that it is the favorite method of teen communication. Because more forms and applications are going online, he recommends emails as the quickest way to communicate and revise drafts.
